Blue Box

People help save the earth every day when they sort their recyclables into two bins. The first is the blue bin which is where you put plastic and metal recyclables. Here’s a list of some of the items that go in the blue bin:

  • Refundable containers such as soda bottles and juice boxes
  • Metal food cans
  • Plastic containers
  • No. 4 Plastic grocery bags
  • Milk cartons

Before you place the items in the blue box, there are a few things you should know:

  • Check the plastic type (we accept types 1 to 7)
  • Rinse all cans, plastic bottles and containers
  • Leave the labels on
  • Remove the bottle caps
  • Set your blue box out by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day
Grey Box

The second bin for sorting recyclables is grey and is where you place your paper products. Here’s a list of some of the items that go in the grey box:

  • Newspapers
  • Flyers
  • Cardboard
  • Boxboard
  • Phonebooks

  • Magazines

  • Set your grey box out by 7 am on your scheduled collection day
